Protecting Your Furnace During the Summer
June 25, 2014
It’s understandable, of course, if protecting your furnace during the summer is one of the last things on your mind. You’re more concerned with making sure you’ll be comfortable inside when the heat cranks up. However, keeping your heating system in good shape really doesn’t take a lot of effort on your part. Before you completely put it out of your mind, call a professional to have the following maintenance checks performed.
Furnace Maintenance
Routine furnace maintenance will go a long way toward making sure it will be ready to work as it should when the weather once again turns cold. Here’s just some of what to expect when you call Northern's One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning® to have this type of maintenance performed:
- Cleaning of dirty parts
- Tightening of loose components
- Unclogging burners
- Looking for any minor issues before they become major problems
If we find something wrong, you’ll have a big advantage of knowing so well before cooling season returns. In most cases, you’ll be able to take your time when it comes to having it repaired. Of course, if we spot a major issue that could pose some sort of health risk, you’ll obviously want it to be taken care of as soon as possible. For most other issues, however, you’ll have a great deal of flexibility time-wise. Just make sure you don’t wait until winter, because it could be difficult to schedule an appointment.
Another step you can take when protecting your furnace is to run it once in a while for about 15 minutes and see if there are any issues. This will, again, give you a head start on those problems so that you can get them taken care of well before it turns cold. Let the professionals with Northern's One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning® handle your furnace maintenance so you’ll be well ahead of the game.
