Local Business Owner Cycles for a Cause
September 27, 2014
Passion for cycling, helping others and providing home comfort all comes together on the race course.
Tim Claire has been helping people stay cool for more than three decades. He started in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry as a technician with Sears, Roebuck and Co., worked his way up and eventually started his own business. He wanted to provide comfort, quality and exceptional customer service to his neighbors. Today he independently owns and operates One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning® of Midland Park serving the Midland and Odessa areas.
That desire to help people doesn’t stop at the customer’s front door. Tim Claire has taken that same spirit to the cycling courses he races on and uses it to help raise money for charities. Claire sponsors and races with the One Hour cycling team. Through their miles of pedaling they raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, multiple sclerosis through the MS 150 bike ride in Midland, participate in bike rodeos for children and several other local organizations. “My doctor told me to try cycling after having knee surgeries. It started a passion for the sport and it was only fitting that I combine that with my passion for helping others in the community I live in,” said Claire.
Tim Claire cycles about 400 miles a month. Several other members of the One Hour cycling team do about 900 miles a month. You’ll see the bright yellow jerseys racing throughout Texas, Missouri and Kansas.
