The 'One Hour' in our company name indicates our guarantee to be at your home in the predetermined window quoted when you set your appointment. If we do not show up within that window, your service call fee is waived. 1. Express Appointment: This is an appointment that is scheduled during a specified one-hour time slot. You are promised that a technician will arrive at your home within this one-hour time window. You will also receive a call when the technician is en route to your home. 2. Reserved Appointment: This is an appointment that is scheduled during a specified, two-hour time slot. You are promised that a technician will arrive at your home within this two-hour time window. You will also receive a call when the technician is en route to your home. 3. Standard Appointment: This is an appointment that is scheduled during a specified four-hour time slot. You are promised that a technician will arrive at your home within this four-hour time window. You will also receive a call when the technician is en route to your home. 4. Stand-By Appointment: This appointment is for overflow situations. This appointment will not have a specified time. You will receive a call when the technician is en route to your home. 5. Emergency Appointment: This appointment is for an unspecified time after normal business hours Monday – Saturday and all day on Sundays/Holidays. Calls are dispatched in the same order they are received. You will also receive a call when the technician is en route to your home.

The size and complexity of your HVAC issue will determine the cost. Because our trained, licensed HVAC technicians must diagnose the issue before we are able to quote you an accurate cost, we require an appointment to be set to complete a diagnostic on your system. Once the diagnostic is complete, your One Hour(R) technician will walk you through all costs using our Straightforward Pricing(R) Guide so there are never any surprise fees.

How often should I service my HVAC system?

It's ideal to service your cooling system each spring and your heating system each fall to ensure you find small issues before they become big problems.

How often do I need to change my HVAC filter?

Your filter should be changed every one to three months, depending on conditions in your home and your region's climate.

“A picture frame had dropped from the wall above the thermostat, knocking it from the wall and it wouldn't work. It was just a simple repair of securing the wiring and affixing again to the wall more securely. Right off, I liked the low service cost and that the fee is used toward cost of repair/replacement that is needed. Due to the easy fix, we just paid the service fee. There was no push to do replacement of existing unit. My 20-year-old son was the person home. William called him to let him know he was on his way and text sent to him with William's info & picture about 3:25. “Fantastic. We are very happy with the heating and cooling system we bought from One Hour Heating and Cooling. We bought a 96% heater, 18.4 Seer 2 a/c, humidifier, and air purifier. Our old system was over 20 years old and had some very funny duct work for the heater and One hour heating and cooling replaced all of it up to code as part of the insulation. Another company we had an estimate from wanted to charge us an additional $800 dollars to bring it up to code. Bret was who came for the estimate, and Ethan and his team is who installed the system. Everyone was very respectful, friendly, knowledgeable, and answer any and all questions we had. Steve became Owner of One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning in 2005 after a 20 year career in Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Management. He holds a Master Mechanical license in addition to having held several other licenses including his Professional Engineering license. His desire is to provide world class service to the Kansas City Metro area.
Denise Kurtz

Owner

Denise has been an owner since 2005. Throughout the past eighteen years of the company’s existence, Denise has worked right alongside her husband and co-owner, Steve, to build the company to what it is today. She has served in numerous roles, from client care representative, to administrative assistant, general manager, has executed marketing campaigns, and now is the human resources director. Denise has been driven throughout her life to serve others and learned this mindset as she grew up in a pastor’s family serving in multiple churches across America. She has experience directing church camps, music competitions, and believes homeschooling her children has helped her develop skills that transfer to training and human resources. When not working, Denise loves campfires, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her grandkids.

General Manager

Kyle has been with One Hour for over 15 years and has been involved in almost every aspect of the business operations. Currently, Kyle serves as General Manager, overseeing all day to day operations. He is an avid Royals and Chiefs fan, is a "sneaky" good interior decorator, and enjoys attending as many concerts as his schedule allows. Kyle is a downtown Lee's Summit resident.

Operations Manager

Ten years ago, Caleb started out working in the scrap yard cutting metal for One Hour. Eventually, he became a service and sales technician, and later began training and mentoring the new employees as the One Hour team grew. His role as the Operations Manager incorporates organizing the installation teams, systematizing the service and sales of the company, and training everyone from installers to sales technicians. He knows every employee learns differently, and has developed training strategies that celebrate this. Since Kansas City is home, Caleb is inspired to serve the community and sees helping employees reach their full potential while bringing 100% customer satisfaction as part of this. Caleb enjoys spending time with his family, is an avid Chiefs and Royals fan, and plays video games with friends.

Jimmy has over two years in the HVAC industry and several years’ experience in sales prior to working at One Hour.
