Prepare for Winter with One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning
November is upon us, and so are colder temperatures and harsher weather conditions. It’s critical that your heating system is working properly and efficiently in order to keep your home warm and cozy, especially if you’re hosting guests for Thanksgiving. In order to make sure your system is up to par, One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning has compiled a few tips that can help you prepare for winter so that you can worry less and enjoy more time with those closest to you.
Fix any air leaks
Make sure that your heat isn’t escaping your home through any air leaks around your doors, windows, or air ducts. This will cause your heating system to work harder, potentially causing your bill to skyrocket. Find and fix any air leaks there may be in your home before winter arrives in full force.
Use your fans
Did you know that changing the spinning direction of your fans can help heat your home? Set your fans to spin clockwise and this will force warm air down and outwards and draw cool air upwards. Use this in conjunction with your thermostat to keep your guests warm this holiday season.
Schedule a furnace tune-up
It’s likely that your furnace has not been used for the months leading up to winter. If you haven’t done so already, change your air filter and schedule a tune-up to make sure that things will run smoothly once winter weather hits.
Throughout the month of November we will be offering $79 Furnace Tune-Ups to assist you in getting the most out of your heating system this winter. Please call us today for additional details and to schedule an appointment.
