Before You Call

Check the lists below for things you can try for common problems in your home before you call us.

Air Conditioner - Not Cooling

• Check the settings on your thermostat. The temperature on the control selector should be below the current room temperature. The system switch should be on “Cool” or “Auto”, with the fan “On” for continuous air or “Auto” for the blower to work only when the air conditioner is running.
• Set the thermostat as low as possible to try getting the air conditioner to turn on.
• Check the air filter if the air flow is low, as a dirty air filter can block the flow of air.
• Open all registers and make sure they are unobstructed.
• Check the power disconnect switch by all indoor and outdoor units.
• Check the electrical panel to make sure the indoor and outdoor fuses/ breakers are OK.
• If the problem persists, please call us.

Heat Pump - Not Cooling

Heat Pump - Not Heating

Gas Furnace - Not Heating

• Check the settings on your thermostat. The temperature on the control selector should be above the current room temperature. The system switch should be on “Heat” or “Auto”, with the fan “On” for continuous air or “Auto” for the blower to work only when the furnace is running.
• Set the thermostat as high as possible to try getting the furnace to turn on.
• Check the air filter — dirty air filters can block the flow of air.
• Open all registers and make sure that are unobstructed.
• Check the power disconnect switch by the furnace.
• Check the electrical panel to make sure the furnace and fuses/ breakers are OK.
• Check to make sure the gas control valve to the furnace is open.
• Check the pilot light. (Electronic ignitions will not have a pilot light.)
