They inspected it and ordered the needed parts last week, and today (Saturday), the same technician, Erick L., returned to install the parts and clean the fan mechanism. He called ahead to let me know when he'd be arriving and took the time to explain what his work would entail. Throughout the service, he was knowledgeable and used clean, well-maintained tools while working between our furnace, vents, and thermostat. Given that we have kids in the house, he also took the extra step of measuring the carbon monoxide levels coming from our gas furnace and vents. He ensured the readings were well below the acceptable range, which gave us great peace of mind about something we'd never considered before. Erick was thorough and took numerous pictures with his iPad to explain the results of the inspection.
