Aside from regular maintenance to keep your system in A1 condition, there isn’t much you can do change the performance of your system, but there are things that you can do to help it. Taking control of the environment around you is possibly the easiest way to help the efficiency of your HVAC system.
Windows
If your system is thermostatically controlled, keeping the outside environment OUTSIDE will have a great effect on the overall efficiency; whatever the season, having your windows open and your HVAC system on will only ever lead to increased utility bills and a HVAC system that is running constantly.
Maintain The Temperature
Maintaining the room temperature is much more efficient than trying to cool down or heat up (season dependent) the room. It uses much less energy; the HVAC system will cycle at a set temperature whereas demanding large changes means the system will be on for longer and working at maximum load capacity.
A Few Degrees Less
Changing your thermostat to alter the heat by a few degrees (again season depending) can make a large difference to your energy bill. Don’t go for the coolest setting possible in summer and try not to heat up too much in winter. It may sound like a small thing, but you WILL see the difference in energy usage.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is a guaranteed way of ensuring your system is working at its peak efficiency. Not only will your system be in A1 shape, but it is also a good opportunity to spot any early signs of problems. Whatever your HVAC requirements, call
